The Opportunity
Council is seeking a suitably qualified professional to lead the Works, Fleet, and Stores functions, along with the delivery of assigned Capital Programs and Projects.
In the role of Manager | Works and Projects, the successful candidate will be responsible for the planning, implementation, and oversight of operational and maintenance programs across transport, drainage, and major marine infrastructure assets. This includes ensuring optimal resource allocation to meet service delivery objectives.
The position also entails the development of policies and strategic frameworks to guide the effective operation, maintenance, and advancement of Council’s civil and building infrastructure portfolio. The manager will work collaboratively with other senior leaders to formulate long-term financial plans and review Council’s Integrated Planning and Reporting documents, including the Delivery Program, Operational Plans, and Resourcing Strategy.

About You
We are seeking an individual who has a tertiary qualification or higher in Civil Engineering (or related profession), professional memberships to position related industry associations, and has a NSW Class C drivers licence.
You will have the following skills and experience;
- Well-developed and applied asset management skills including life-cycle costing, level of service, asset degradation and long-term asset planning particularly in roads and major civil infrastructure.
- High-level skills in interpreting relevant legislation, regulations, specifications, policies, and codes relating to engineering projects and works.
- Significant experience in Contract Administration, including dispute resolution and system development.
- Ten (10) years’ work experience in the civil engineering discipline (indicative) including indoor and outdoor positions.
Benefits
This is a permanent full time position working 35 hours per week.
The total remuneration package for this position commences at $187,459.27 gross per annum, comprising of:
- $3,121.20 per week base salary
- $374.54 per week superannuation (calculated at 12%)
- $109.24 per week Civil Liability Allowance (calculated at 3.5%)
